Job Summary
Direct Support Professional supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges by guiding daily activities, promoting independence, and improving quality of life. Daily duties include assisting with personal care, meal preparation and housekeeping, transportation, advocacy, documentation, and administering medications as prescribed, with 24/7 availability in homes requiring round-the-clock care. The role emphasizes following person-centered plans, maintaining a safe environment, and collaborating with a care team. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, being at least 18, a valid driver’s license, and a compassionate, patient demeanor; on-the-job training is provided.
