Job Summary
Caregiver provides resident services including assistance with personal care, medication reminders, social and recreational activities, meal services, and other tasks to support the resident's well-being. The role emphasizes dignity, privacy, independence, and individuality of residents. Responsibilities include reviewing resident Service Plans and logs to stay informed of needs, providing personal services, assisting with medications as indicated, responding to emergency calls, following infection control procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment, facilitating individual and group activities, monitoring changes in needs or health status, reporting abuse to supervisors or agencies, responding to emergencies as trained, and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift more than 50 pounds, and spend long periods walking/standing
- Must have a desire to work with seniors in a privacy-respecting environment
- Must meet in-service training requirements
- Must be able to organize and use time to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
- Must work well with others and function as part of a team
- Must be well-groomed and follow dress requirements
- Must have cheerful, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn new skills
