Job Summary
Career-Technical Education & Special Programs Coordinator provides leadership and oversight of the district’s CTE program, ensuring compliance with NCDPI and Perkins V, coordinating Career Pathways, Work-Based Learning, and CCP coursework, and supervising CTE personnel and English Learner services. Responsibilities include program leadership, curriculum alignment, partnership development with schools, colleges, and community organizations, data analysis for continuous improvement, reporting to the Chief Academic Officer and Superintendent, budget and grant management, and ensuring equitable access to CTE for all students. Requires travel between district schools and partner organizations, and a 12-month, full-time schedule with an anticipated July 1, 2026 start.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree, educational specialist degree, or educational doctorate required for candidates qualifying under Pathway 2; master’s degree preferred for all candidates.
- Licensure/Experience: Two licensure pathways exist (Pathway 1 or Pathway 2) with requirements including current North Carolina license in a CTE program area or a NC principal/school administrator license, plus five years of teaching/CTE support/supervisory/administrative experience (two years in CTE) within the past eight years.
- Minimum qualifications for Pathway 1: Master’s degree; current NC license; 5 years of relevant experience; 2 years supervisory/administrative experience in CTE.
- Minimum qualifications for Pathway 2: Master’s, educational specialist, or educational doctorate; current NC license (principal or administrator); 5 years of teaching/CTE supervisory/administrative experience with at least 2 years in CTE.
