Career Readiness Counselor_Coach

Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one and group career readiness counseling for LPCCTE students, aligning academic and career plans with Indiana's Career Coaching Framework. Coordinate student visits, organize industry connection events like career fairs, and facilitate work-based learning participation. Serve as a liaison between schools, employers, and instructors to disseminate CTE opportunities and support school counselors in awareness efforts. Track student progress using data systems, monitor completion of activities, and assist area schools with enrollment data submission. Build strategic relationships with local employers through networking, site visits, and direct outreach to ensure broad industry access.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in school counseling
- current IDOE Professional Educators License with a School Counseling Endorsement
- Bachelor's degree with significant career coaching, higher education, or workforce development experience
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, industry professionals, and community partners
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver dynamic presentations
- Proficient in computer applications and data management systems
- Regular travel throughout La Porte County
- some in-state and out of state travel to attend meetings, conferences, or professional development
- Background clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Previous career and technical education experience
- a strong commitment to CTE as viable career pathway for students
- Knowledge of local business community and industry trends
- experience working with compliance documentation and regulatory requirements
- preference for candidates with an Indiana CTE teaching license
- experience in similar position
- Valid driver's license
- reliable transportation for regular travel throughout La Porte County
- criminal background clearance
- Occasional evening and weekend work
