Job Summary
Conduct set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of manual and CNC machines to consistently achieve production rates and quality standards. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and part requirements. Operate precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and bore gages while managing tooling, hand tools, power tools, and cutting techniques. Execute fixturing and equipment setup, perform tool grinding and sharpening, and gain OD/ID grinding experience. Guide and train less experienced Machinists, trainees, and operators while maintaining strict adherence to safety procedures. Work independently in a fast-paced environment with high autonomy to determine optimal run sequences for production schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level Manual/Conventional Machinists
- Expert-level CNC Machinists
- Expertise in set-up, operation, and troubleshooting to consistently achieve production rates quality standards, and production schedule
- Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical/engineering drawings, GD&T, process documentation, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerances and part requirements
- Expertise in use of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gages and other measuring instruments
- Experienced with tooling, hand tools, power tools, and cutting techniques
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in fixturing and equipment setup
- Tool grinding and sharpening experience
- OD/ID grinding experience
- Capable of guiding/coaching and/or training less experienced Machinists, Machinist Trainees, and Machine Operators
- Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines at all times
- Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
- Reliable and have a strong work ethic
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds
- 4-day work schedule (Monday – Thursday), 1st and 2nd shift openings
