Job Summary
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot manual and CNC machines to consistently meet production rates and quality standards. Read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T to determine dimensions and tolerances, while using precision measuring equipment for verification. Manage tooling, hand and power tools, and cutting techniques, including fixturing, equipment setup, tool grinding, and OD/ID grinding. Determine optimal run sequences for work orders to achieve production schedules with a high degree of autonomy. Guide and train less experienced machinists and machine operators while adhering to safety procedures. Work independently in a fast-paced environment, lifting up to fifty pounds, with a four-day Monday through Thursday schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level Manual/Conventional Machinists
- Expert-level CNC Machinists
- Expertise in set-up, operation, and troubleshooting to consistently achieve production rates quality standards, and production schedule
- Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical/engineering drawings, GD&T, process documentation, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerances and part requirements
- Expertise in use of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gages and other measuring instruments
- Experienced with tooling, hand tools, power tools, and cutting techniques
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in fixturing and equipment setup
- Tool grinding and sharpening experience
- OD/ID grinding experience
- Capable of guiding/coaching and/or training less experienced Machinists, Machinist Trainees, and Machine Operators
- Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines at all times
- Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently
- Reliable and have a strong work ethic
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds
- 4-day work schedule (Monday – Thursday), 1st and 2nd shift openings
