Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions to assess client aspirations, interests, and skills while administering aptitude tests. Provide personalized guidance for creating individualized career development plans, including resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies. Assist clients in accessing internal and external resources through referrals and maintain a robust network of contacts post-placement. Collect data on job placements, employment trends, and wage rates while utilizing case-management software. Support the Career Center Manager by participating in job fairs, hiring events, and employer panels, and assist with maintaining public spaces. Ensure compliance with safety policies and attend scheduled inter-departmental meetings.
Required Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree or specialized training in vocational education, rehabilitation services, psychology or related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in job development or job placement
- Bilingual abilities
- Demonstrated aptitude with Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent customer service skills
- A high degree of flexibility
- A genuine desire to assist callers, guests, clients, and employers with inquiries
- The ability to read and interpret documents
- The ability to write reports
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have a valid driver's license, with a good driving record
- Must maintain appropriate requirements for legal vehicle operation, including current automobile insurance inspection, and license plate
- Must be eligible for a positive outcome on required criminal conviction background check
- Must maintain compliance with Goodwill's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy
