Job Summary
Career Development Specialist to provide individual and group-based career development planning, resume and interview coaching, job search support, and coordination of vocational training for refugees and immigrants. Responsibilities include pre-enrollment assessments, creating career development plans with concrete activities, assisting clients with resumes and job applications, practicing interview skills, guiding through certifications or apprenticeships, networking with employers, and ensuring compliance with program requirements. Requires collaboration with IRC teams, strong client counseling and documentation skills, ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, willingness to work evenings/weekends, and proficiency with MS Office and databases. Working environment includes a blend of standard office, remote work, and field time within the service area. Fluency in English; multilingual ability preferred (Spanish, French, Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Pashto) and a university degree or equivalent experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or relevant work experience
- Ability to work with adult learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Fluency in MS Office applications and database experience
- Willingness to work some evenings and/or weekends
- Experience working with refugee and immigrant populations desired
