Job Summary
The Career Development Instructor is responsible for delivering and coordinating soft skills and job readiness training for clients returning from incarceration. This position requires collaboration with case management and employment services teams to ensure the educational progression of clients. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in workforce development, along with specific qualifications to engage effectively with marginalized populations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field or 4 years direct experience delivering soft skills training to adults
- At least 4 years’ experience in workforce development or adult education
- At least 2 years’ experience working with marginalized or underserved populations
- Knowledge of diagnostic and achievement testing procedures and practices
- Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Must be able to clear a Level I Background check through the Department of Corrections
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual skills, preferably Spanish-speaking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and electronic client records
- Strong influential face-to-face communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Experience in the development of adult education and/or workforce development curricula
