Job Summary
Coordinate career development services for four middle schools, facilitating linkages with parents, businesses, and postsecondary institutions to support student transitions. Plan, develop, and execute career awareness activities, including the Students@Work Initiative and Futures Fair, while assisting students with CTE course selection and assessment interpretation. Manage summer exploration opportunities and increase chapters of career and technical student organizations within assigned schools. Serve as a liaison with the business, industry, education, and military communities to promote work-based learning and employability skills. Interpret student data, develop budgets for consumables and field trips, and collaborate with central office staff for instructional coaching.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and current continuing professional license in any Career and Technical Education Program Area
- Master's degree in School Counseling or Career Counseling and a current continuing professional license as a school counselor
- Must obtain valid NC teaching license with 747 CDC area
- Completion of required coursework during the duration of the provisional license area
- Option 1: Two required courses: National Career Development Association (NCDA) Facilitating Career Development (FCD) Course and NCDPI New CDC Induction
- Option 2: Six semester hours and Induction including 3 semester hours in Counseling theory and 3 semester hours from Career development and counseling, Career and life planning, Career development and occupational information, and NCDPI New CDC Induction
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
