Job Summary
MFIP Career Counselor provides employment support and individualized case management to participants in the Minnesota Family Investment Program. Responsibilities include developing individualized career plans, coordinating with county partners for cash/food/healthcare/childcare assistance, maintaining essential documentation and case notes, and serving as a main contact for participants and collaborating agencies. The role involves in-person, virtual services, and occasional community meetings, with a scheduled-hybrid arrangement requiring at least two days per week at a physical location; remaining days may be worked from home. Key skills include strong organizational and communication abilities, data privacy compliance, and ability to manage a caseload and work with diverse populations.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Valid driver’s license and MVR check (as described in job)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry
- Ability to manage a caseload
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Knowledge of confidentiality and data privacy requirements
