Job Summary
The Career Counselor provides counseling and coaching to help customers improve training and professional skills to obtain employment in their desired field. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments (career aptitude and interests/abilities), recommending workforce programs at local, state, and federal levels, offering interview and resume assistance and soft-skill development, and guiding customers to educational opportunities and available employment services. The role supports job seekers by informing them about the local job market and resources and facilitating access to training opportunities, aiming to expand employment opportunities and contribute to mission success. Location supports Victoria, TX; the position requires in-person service delivery within the area.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associates or undergraduate degree preferred
- (1) year of relevant experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance with good driving record
- Ability to relocate within the service delivery area
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
