Job Summary
Interview customers to assess career readiness, review documentation for barriers, and jointly develop individual employment plans. Administer assessment instruments, recommend training referrals, and conduct home visits or public meetings to address service gaps. Provide counseling and intervention for observed barriers while ensuring connections to job placement services. Maintain case reporting in MIS systems, document progress, and prepare reports on identified barriers. Collaborate with the Talent Sourcing Specialist to ensure successful outcomes and contribute to team efforts by performing other assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
- Must possess and provide a valid Michigan Driver's License
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in career planning, placement, employment, training, or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of education, training and community resources; of career coaching principles, objectives, standards, and methods; and of program policies and procedures
- Ability and desire to work with a diverse population of customers with varying needs
- Ability to communicate effectively; to assess customer needs; and to assist with case management activities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
- Bilingual language skills preferred
