Job Summary
Career Coach provides comprehensive college and career readiness services to students at a local school district, focusing on early outreach, career exploration, postsecondary planning, and student support to ensure successful transitions from secondary to postsecondary education or the workforce. Responsibilities include delivering information on college applications and financing, outlining career pathways, administering interest inventories and skills assessments, developing career plans and portfolios, coordinating career awareness activities (mentoring, internships, work-based learning), connecting students to support services and bridge programs, aiding enrollment steps (FAFSA, college applications, placement testing), and contributing to reporting and program support. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, strong communication and organizational abilities, and effective interpersonal skills; preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree and experience in higher education or public schools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing and in public presentation settings
- Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
