Job Summary
Assist licensed CTE instructors in Automotive Technology shop and theory classrooms to maintain a well-organized, safe, and effective learning environment. Provide classroom support to teachers and students, help plan and monitor shop projects, accommodate diverse learners, maintain student records confidentially, and support delivery of quality career and technical education programming, including supports for IEPs, 504 plans, and SEL initiatives. Collaborate with administrators, parents, teachers, and other staff to foster student achievement and workplace readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Meets DESE requirements for NCLB paraprofessionals
- Vocational school graduate encouraged to apply
- Experience in workplace in vocational technical training areas (Licensed tradesperson preferred)
- Proven ability to work well with high school students with varied abilities
- Proven ability to collaborate with administrators, parents, teachers, students, and other staff
- Knowledge of shop safety, hand tools, power tools and equipment for specified shop areas
- Ability to inspire excellence, achieve consensus, and respond to the school mission
- Experience delivering quality CVE programming and supporting IEPs/504s/SEL plans
- Strong organizational and confidentiality skills
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to support instructional needs
