CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPECIALIST

Job Summary
Respond to client needs with accurate information while developing positive relationships between the ESC and local education agencies. Maintain all required program paperwork and documentation, submitting materials by requested deadlines. Collaborate with internal CCMR teams, TEA, and other ESC staff to carry out program activities and provide technical assistance for Perkins funded initiatives. Support LEA staff in developing programs of study aligned with career clusters and pathways, including guidance on associated program coding. Prepare and deliver professional development to educators while utilizing current technology platforms. Work with frequent interruptions and occasional regional or statewide travel, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Texas Teacher Certification
- Minimum 5 years teaching and/or supervisory experience in the field of Career and Technical Education
- Working knowledge and experience with compliance, and state and federal program and fiscal guidelines under the Carl Perkins grant
- Experience in planning, developing, and presenting professional development to adults
- Training and experience in curriculum and program development for CTE programs
- Knowledge of state and federal guidelines for CTE programs and funding
- Ability to prepare and provide professional development to educators of all levels
- Ability to effectively work with diverse personalities
- Ability to work on multiple tasks effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to utilize current technology platforms and software
- High degree of professionalism including strong organizational, communication, and public relations skills
- Ability to establish rapport and work in collaboration with public schools, ESC and state personnel
