Job Summary
Teach high school students about automotive and diesel industries through hands-on learning and real-world experiences. Introduce foundational concepts such as vehicle systems, maintenance, shop safety, and the tools used in today’s automotive field. Use demonstrations, interactive instruction, and field-based experiences to help students explore transportation careers, build confidence, responsibility, and practical workplace skills. Collaborate with career and technical education instructors and industry partners to support students as they explore future pathways and prepare to enter a focused CTE program.
Required Qualifications
- Six thousand (6,000) hours of closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years OR
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and five thousand (5,000) hours of closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years OR
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and four thousand (4,000) hours of closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years OR
- Missouri Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Certification in a closely related occupation
- Teacher certification is not required upon hire
- Applying for career and technical education certification through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and completing up to 18 college credit hours to obtain a Career and Technical Education Teaching Certificate is required
