Job Summary
Career Advisor I based in Marion, NC, supporting customers seeking employment and employers seeking workers through the Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Solutions. Responsibilities include delivering employment services, job training, unemployment insurance services, labor market information, job development and placement, career development assistance, RESEA, and ISD collaboration. Requires strong communication, data-entry into databases, ability to research job orders, interview customers, and cross-train in Career Center services. Entry-level consultative role with salary range $35,596–$55,619 and state benefits; may travel as needed. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree (or Associate with related experience) and ability to interpret program guidelines, use computer software for daily tasks, and provide employer/jobseeker counseling; experience in human resources or related public-facing roles preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution with related experience in human resource administration, case management, job development and placement, employment counseling, vocational guidance and counseling, social work, vocational rehabilitation, claims analysis, or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of functions; or Associate degree and two years of experience in human resource administration, case management, job development and placement, employment counseling, vocational guidance and counseling, social work, vocational rehabilitation, claims analysis, or related public contact work dealing with job applicants and employers in a variety of functions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
