Job Summary
Provide day-to-day care and support to each individual resident, ensuring their comfort and welfare needs are met. Support residents to prepare for and transport to community events, while acting as a companion to offer comfort and support. Assist with table and tray preparation, serving beverages and food, and complete laundry and housekeeping duties including restocking shelves, making beds, and organizing closets. Transport residents to their rooms, recreational activities, health office, and dining room as required. Participate in admission orientation and transfer processes as directed. This role is part of a team committed to the Team Member Experience and innovation. Applicants must possess a high school diploma, Safe Food Handling and WHMIS certificates, and pass a Vulnerable Sector Check. Experience working with seniors is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Safe Food Handling Certificate
- WHMIS certificate
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively when working with residents, families and visitors
- Ability to model the warmth of human connection in communicating with residents, families, and visitors
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Successful completion of the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check
- Provincial police check
- Tuberculosis screening
