Job Summary
Measure and record patient vital signs, interview patients, and document medical histories. Catalog patient needs, perform routine screening tests, and assist physicians with exams while explaining procedures. Collect lab specimens, administer medications, change dressings, and apply first aid under direct supervision. Process phone messages, route calls, and call in prescriptions upon approval. Provide health coaching to patients and follow up via weekly calls. Maintain supplies, sterilize instruments, and ensure accurate legal documentation. This role supports the Physician-lead Care Team focused on providing comprehensive primary care to seniors. Candidates must travel locally up to 10% of the time and be available for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED)
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Program in one of the following: Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician Program, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic
- A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, EMT or Paramedic
- BLS for Healthcare Providers
- Spoken and written fluency in English
- Ability and willingness to travel locally and/or regionally up to 10% of the time to assist in covering other centers, as needed
- Flexible to work evening, weekends and/or holidays as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with geriatric patients
- EMR system experience
