Care Partner-ICU

Assist the nurse in ICU patient care, performing general care activities and procedures such as taking vital signs, monitoring intake/output, completing activities of daily living, and documenting data in the electronic medical record. Tasks include orthostatic BP measurements, blood glucose monitoring, collecting and transporting lab specimens, obtaining blood products per policy, and timely communication of patient changes to the nurse. Maintain supplies and equipment, ensure a safe environment, and support infection control. Communicate effectively with peers, physicians, other departments, patients, families, and adapt communication to age/developmental needs. Follow policies, report patient responses and intervene as directed, participate in team-based care, and support flexible scheduling to ensure patient care. On-site in Chesapeake, Virginia.
