Job Summary
Provide residents assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) while recognizing their dignity and respect. Assist residents in meeting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs by escorting them to meals, aiding with dining, and cleaning their rooms and laundry. Check residents every two hours, report findings, and notify supervisors of any changes in condition. Answer resident calls timely, dispose of incontinent products per OSHA regulations, and respond to emergencies. Maintain good relationships with residents and families, practice proper body mechanics, and take ownership of safety for associates and residents. Complete assignment sheets daily, clock in/out, and wear a name badge. Work assigned shifts following company policies on uniforms and equipment usage.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school education
- Non-Certification with proper training, or possession of valid state certification as C.N.A.
- Must disclose any medication that might impair associate's ability to perform the job safely or competently
- Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
- In all Florida Companies, this position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- 1 – 3 years experience in a senior care community or nursing home environment preferred
- Has a good understanding of how Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease can affect behavior
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts
