Job Summary
Provide residents assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) while recognizing their dignity and respect. Assist residents in meeting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs by escorting them to meals and checking on them every two hours. Adhere to each resident's Level of Care, notify supervisors of condition changes, and respond to resident calls and emergencies in a timely manner. Complete assignment sheets daily, dispose of incontinent products per OSHA regulations, and practice proper body mechanics when lifting. Establish and maintain good relationships with residents and their families while taking ownership for the safety of associates and residents.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school education
- Non-Certification with proper training, or possession of valid state certification as C.N.A.
- Must disclose any medication that might impair associate's ability to perform the job safely or competently
- Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
- In all Florida Companies, this position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- 1 – 3 years experience in a senior care community or nursing home environment preferred
- Has a good understanding of how Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease can affect behavior
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts
