Job Summary
Provide outstanding customer service to residents, family members, and visitors while assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, and mobility. Manage continence, instrumental tasks including meal preparation and housekeeping, and support self-administration of medication and technology use. Accompany residents to medical appointments as needed, encourage participation in social and recreational activities, and maintain awareness of physical and mental health changes to report promptly to the Nursing Supervisor. Accurately complete care logs, incident reports, and medication receipt logs while ensuring units remain clean and orderly. Answer calls for assistance promptly and follow emergency procedures and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program or Home Health Aide Program and registered in the District of Columbia
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must speak and read English fluently
- Minimum one-year experience working with a senior population in residential or home setting
- Free of communicable diseases
- Basic first aid and CPR certification
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with people with dementia preferred
