Job Summary
Engage and develop rapport with individuals in crisis situations presenting with mental health and substance use issues. Recognize and assess client risk of danger to self or others, de-escalate immediate crises, and develop treatment and safety plans. Coordinate with community resources, provide comprehensive outreach including phone and in-home contact, and document all services within expected time frames. Participate in on-call coverage, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and model effective crisis services for new staff. Maintain excellent organizational skills to meet productivity standards while attending required trainings and supervision sessions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working with the target population
- Ability to manage time to meet all deadlines
- Ability to recognize and identify symptoms of mental illness and suicide and risk potential and respond appropriately
- Good verbal and written skills
