Job Summary

Coordinate and facilitate connections between patients and approved resources while providing educational training on specific disease states and medication administration. Deliver virtual education and support via telephone, video, email, and SMS to help patients build treatment routines, manage side effects, and access financial barriers. Foster appropriate dialogue between patients and healthcare providers to reinforce behavior change, address concerns, and support long-term adherence motivation and quality of life goals. Work primarily in an office setting in the Raleigh area with defined shifts, occasional flexibility for coverage across time zones, and potential weekend or evening availability. Must reside in the US and have authorization to work without sponsorship.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or AMCA)
  • Minimum 3+ years of healthcare experience (e.g., physician's office, clinic, or specialty care)
  • Skilled at educating or supporting patients in a healthcare setting
  • Direct interaction with patients and support for persistence and compliance
  • Knowledge of clinical data and pharmacology
  • Demonstrated time management skills; planning and prioritization skills; ability to multi-task and maintain prioritization of key projects and deadlines
  • Demonstrated effective presentation skills; ability to motivate others; excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) skills with demonstrated effectiveness to work cross functional and independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work and drive results and with enthusiasm
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute plans in an independent environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and vision, challenge existing assumptions and interpretations
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with third parties using good negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing work environments and responsibilities
  • Fully competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and iPad technology
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must reside in country where the job is posted
  • Candidates must have authorization to work in the US without the need for sponsorship

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in digestive health and/or gastroenterology
  • Prior experience working in a virtual or call center environment and providing patient education telephonically
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities
