Care Coordinator - Twin Cities Orthopedics

Job Summary

Coordinate patient appointments, surgeries, and diagnostic tests while building and maintaining physician schedules. Serve as the liaison between providers and patients, obtaining insurance authorizations and following up on inquiries. Process mail, correspondence, and patient record transmissions. Additional duties may include transcription, medical scribing, rooming patients, and assisting with legal practice matters. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, across multiple clinic locations.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines
  • Ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
  • Ability to work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally in face-to-face, phone and email interactions
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift
  • Ability to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents
  • Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer)
  • Ability to obtain referral and/or authorization requirements per insurance guidelines
  • Ability to process mail and correspondence
  • Ability to coordinate the transmission and acquisition of patient records
  • Ability to maintain Physician schedule, communicating changes appropriately
  • Ability to provide follow up to patient inquiries, contacting provider as necessary
  • Ability to provide communication and liaison between providers and patients
  • Ability to build Physician schedule and maintain scheduling template
  • Ability to schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and diagnostic tests
  • Ability to comply with E-Verify program requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Administrative or medical office experience
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Transcription experience, where applicable
  • Customer service experience
