Job Summary
Screen all patient calls and respond in a timely manner, then accurately schedule clinical appointments, imaging, and tests ordered by physicians. Liaise between providers and patients while verifying insurance information and processing orders. Contact insurance companies for benefit coverage and pre-certification for diagnostic tests, and coordinate the transmission and acquisition of patient records. Maintain the physician schedule and communicate changes appropriately. Perform any other duties as assigned, including patient services representative tasks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines
- Ability to complete job required training
- Ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
- Ability to demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
- Ability to work in the clinic, office or surgery center during business hours
- Ability to travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center
- Ability to work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
- Ability to prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
- Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to understand and execute a variety of instructions
- Ability to effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to travel to other work locations, if required
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift
- Ability to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching
- Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents
- Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer)
- Ability to be available for Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Ability to work out of Edina and Oakdale locations
- Ability to work 30+ hours per week (60 hours per pay period)
