Job Summary
Provide supportive patient care and assist with unit/department operations under registered nurse supervision. Perform unit secretary/clerical functions and maintain a safe environment while attending education programs, unit meetings, and assigned committees. Share responsibility for teaching and orientation of new personnel within your own skills. This role offers on-the-job training with no experience required, though patient or customer-facing experience is preferred. BLS certification is required upon hire. Some units may require bilingual skills.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Enrolled in a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing education program and have successfully completed the fundamentals in nursing course
- Within the past 3 years, was a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure examination in any state
- Completed an UAP (unlicensed assistive personnel) program in Missouri or another State (that meets current regulatory requirements) within the past 3 years
- Completed a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country
- Worked as a nurse assistant, emergency medical technician (EMT), or surgical technician within the past 3 years
- Required BLS certification Required Upon Hire
- Seasonal influenza vaccine
- Willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
- Drug screen
- Criminal background investigation
