Job Summary
Provide supportive patient care and assist with unit/department operations under registered nurse supervision. Perform unit secretary/clerical functions and attend education programs, unit meetings, and assigned committees. Share responsibility for teaching and orientation of new personnel within your own skills. Maintain a safe environment and promote efficient operations. Seasonal influenza vaccination is a condition of employment; new hires must be willing to be vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, and chicken pox, or provide proof of prior immunity. BLS certification is required upon hire. Some units may require bilingual skills.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent
- No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Enrolled in a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing education program and have successfully completed the fundamentals in nursing course
- Within the past 3 years, was a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure examination in any state
- Completed an UAP (unlicensed assistive personnel) program in Missouri or another State (that meets current regulatory requirements) within the past 3 years
- Completed a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country
- Worked as a nurse assistant, emergency medical technician (EMT), or surgical technician within the past 3 years
- Required BLS certification Required Upon Hire
- seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment
- willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella)
- evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005
- supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination
- drug screen will be performed upon hire
