Job Summary
Provide personal care to residents including bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene while prioritizing safety during transfers and mobilization using mechanical aids. Transport residents to dining areas, chapel, and activities, assist with meals and monitor intake against care plans, and record observations of resident conditions for LPN/RN review. Report safety hazards and equipment malfunctions, perform scheduled cleaning of facilities and equipment, and assist with new resident admissions and staff orientation. Maintain current BC Care Aide registration and attend required care conferences as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 10
- graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program
- equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Current BC Care Aide and Community Registration
- Responsive, outgoing attitude
- good interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to type
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry)
- provide an original copy of a Background Check screening
