Job Summary
Call patients to remind them of scheduled appointments, reschedule no-shows, and verify demographic and insurance information for billing. Collect time-of-service payments, check patients into and out of clinics, and notify them of non-covered services. Document all interactions efficiently in the medical record, obtain insurance authorizations, and review encounter tickets for code accuracy. Screen telephone inquiries, answer patient questions regarding fees and payments, and process medical records requests and subpoenas. Maintain medical records, ensure compliance with HIPAA and infection control standards, and track daily encounter tickets for billing balance. Work 20 hours or more per week at USA Health Physicians Group in the Mobile area.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of clerical experience in an access center, customer service, or healthcare setting
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Completion of higher level of education as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama
