Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Technologist I will train to assist during diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiovascular procedures in the Cath/EP Lab, maintaining sterile technique and supporting physicians and lab staff. Responsibilities include monitoring, scrubbing or circulating, patient education and preparation for procedures, data entry into lab logs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists and cardiologists. The role involves on-call hours and a flexible schedule, with a focus on patient safety, accurate identification and chart verification, and contributing to a safe lab environment. Required certifications include ACLS and BLS with ongoing training to maintain licensure; a minimum associate’s degree in Health Science or an accredited Radiologic Science program is expected, with a preference for CVT program graduates.
Required Qualifications
- One year of relevant medical experience (LPN, RT, EMT/Paramedic) may be used in lieu of formal education
- Graduate of a CVT program — Preferred
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (or ARC-ALS, ACLS-Instructor, or ACLS-Provisional within 180 days)
- BLS – Basic Life Support (or ARC-BLS or BLS-Instructor)
- Basic knowledge of cardiovascular Cath or electrophysiology procedures
- Basic knowledge of electrocardiography
- Basic knowledge of hemodynamics and electrophysiology equipment
- Ability to react quickly to emergency patient care situations
- Required Minimum Education: Associate’s degree in Health Science, or Accredited Program in Radiologic Science (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Science (Preferred)
