Job Summary
Entry-level Cardiovascular Technologist I for the Cardiac Cath Lab in Gainesville. Responsibilities include assisting with cardiac catheterizations and related invasive procedures, preparing patients and procedure rooms, operating and monitoring hemodynamic equipment, acquiring and documenting high-quality images and data, maintaining sterile fields and supplies, and adhering to radiation safety, infection control, and documentation protocols in the electronic medical record. Works with interventional cardiologists, nurses, and fellow technologists to ensure safe, efficient cath-lab operations. Qualifications include an accredited cardiovascular technology or related program (associate degree or higher), BLS and ACLS certifications, and eligibility or pursuit of RCIS or ARRT registration; prior cath lab or invasive cardiovascular experience is preferred but not required. This on-site, hospital-based role emphasizes safety, continuous learning, and participation in quality improvement within UF Health’s cardiovascular care team.
Required Qualifications
- completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology, invasive cardiology, or related program (associate degree or higher)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- eligibility or pursuit of credential such as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or ARRT registration
