Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. Prepare and administer contrast media or medications when ordered. Continually monitor patient condition, report status changes, and select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Position patients to perform imaging procedures, analyze results, and identify quality issues. Implement safety standards, perform quality control procedures on equipment, and troubleshoot or report malfunctions. Provide top-of-scope direct patient care within a multidisciplinary team while modeling proficiency through precepting new staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- 1 adult echo credential from: ARDMS: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Adult (AE)
- 1 vascular credential from: ARDMS: Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- CCI: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), Registered Cardiac Congenital Sonographer (RCCS), or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS)
- State licensure if required by law
- BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- LOCAL Traveler contract options available for those who reside within 75 miles
- 13 week assignments available - extension options
