Job Summary
Cardiovascular Sonographer Traveler at UCHealth provides top of scope ultrasound procedures with specialization in echocardiography and vascular imaging. The role includes reviewing patient history and physician orders, educating patients about procedures and equipment, administering contrast media within scope, selecting imaging factors and exposure parameters, ensuring safety and quality control, positioning patients, performing imaging, analyzing results, precepting newer imaging staff, and contributing to a fast-paced clinical environment. This traveler position offers a 13-week assignment option and a travel package, with local traveler contract options available for those within 75 miles, and involves direct patient care across multiple UCHealth sites in Colorado. Requires ARDMS qualifications (RDCS-Adult, RVT or equivalent), additional credentials (RCS, RVS, RCCS, ACS) or related certifications, and licensure as applicable. BLS/CPR certification required through start date. Open to candidates willing to travel between facilities and work a full-time schedule in days shift.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- ARDMS credentials: RDCS-Adult, RVT, or equivalent
- CC I credentials: RCS, RVS, RCCS, ACS (or equivalent)
- State licensure if required by law
- BLS/CPR certification through AHA or Red Cross with card valid through 60 days after start date
- Ability to perform ultrasound procedures in echocardiography and vascular domains
- Ability to educate patients regarding procedures and equipment
- Knowledge of safety standards and quality control procedures for ultrasound equipment
- Ability to monitor patient condition and respond to changes in status
