Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure cooperation. Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within scope when ordered. Continually monitor patient condition, report status changes, and select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Position patients and perform imaging procedures, analyze results, and identify quality issues. Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions as necessary. Provide top-of-scope practice in direct patient care for various ultrasound procedures. This full-time role at UCHealth UCHlth Anschutz Inpt Pavilion in Aurora, CO, includes a 13-week assignment with pay of $50/hour plus travel stipend. Candidates must hold ARDMS RDCS and RVT credentials and valid BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- 1 adult echo credential from: ARDMS: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Adult (AE)
- 1 vascular credential from: ARDMS: Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- CCI: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), Registered Cardiac Congenital Sonographer (RCCS), or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS)
- State licensure if required by law
- BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
