Job Summary
Conduct echocardiography and vascular ultrasound procedures, reviewing patient history, physician orders, and scheduling exams. Educate patients on procedures and equipment, administer contrast media or medications within scope, and monitor patient condition while reporting status changes. Select appropriate exposure factors, position patients, and analyze imaging results to identify quality issues. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, perform quality control, and implement safety standards. Requires ARDMS RDCS and RVT credentials, BLS certification, and state licensure. Full-time, 80-hour weeks with a $50/hour rate plus travel stipend. 13-week assignments available for local travelers within 75 miles.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- 1 adult echo credential from: ARDMS: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Adult (AE)
- 1 vascular credential from: ARDMS: Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- CCI: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), Registered Cardiac Congenital Sonographer (RCCS), or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS)
- State licensure if required by law
- BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- Valid driver's license (implied by 'LOCAL Traveler contract options available for those who reside within 75 miles' and travel requirement)
- Ability to travel (implied by 'Traveler' title and 'LOCAL Traveler contract options available')
