Job Summary
Delivers safe, effective, and independent nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room using the nursing process, including thorough patient assessments and developing individualized care plans. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, delegates appropriately, and assumes Charge Nurse responsibilities when assigned. Identifies patient learning needs, documents care accurately in electronic records, and analyzes data to improve patient outcomes and meet organizational standards. Recognizes cultural differences to personalize care and engages in professional growth while maintaining required contact hours. Requires a BSN or ADN with recent experience, BLS certification, and ACLS training.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- Current LPNs employed within the Emory Healthcare (EHC) system who have completed an accredited RN program and obtain RN licensure
- Valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Additional certifications based on department and specialty
- Ability to lift 36-75 lbs
- Ability to lift 20-35 lbs
- Ability to lift 10-20 lbs
- Ability to carry objects up to 35 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk
- Ability to sit
- Ability to perform close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Exposure to blood-borne pathogens
- Exposure to bio-hazardous waste
- Exposure to chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors
- Exposure to communicable diseases
- Exposure to electrical shock
- Exposure to floor surfaces
- Exposure to hot/cold temperatures

Desired Qualifications
- Sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role
