Job Summary
Provide patient-centered, high-quality nursing care in a Cardiovascular ICU unit caring for patients with critical heart conditions, including post-operative and transplant patients. Use the nursing process (Assess, Plan, Implement, Evaluate) and SBAR communications to coordinate with the care team, document thoroughly in patient records, and maintain safety practices. Demonstrates critical thinking, organizational skills, and adherence to policies while engaging families in care planning and education. The role involves multidisciplinary rounds and alignment with nursing standards to support optimal clinical outcomes and the hospital’s mission.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program required
- Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse required
- One (1) year of ICU/acute critical care experience or two to three (2-3) years in any acute specialty as a licensed Registered Nurse highly preferred
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License required (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required
