Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Collaborate with supervising physicians to provide direct treatment and management via prescriptive authority or referrals, while documenting care in accordance with specialty standards. Split clinical time between the telemetry floor and the clinic to deliver patient-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students as assigned. This role supports the Institute for Cardiovascular Health at Dell Medical School and Ascension Texas, serving the regional adult population with multidisciplinary cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited training program
- Board certification by the respective accreditation body
- Physician Assistant with board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Licensed through the Texas Medical Board
- Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority
- Board certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Licensed through the Texas Board of Nursing
