Job Summary
Advanced Practice Nurses or Physician Assistants will work with the Institute for Cardiovascular Health, splitting clinical time between the telemetry floor and clinic to diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions. They will collaborate with supervising physicians, provide patient-centered care in outpatient and inpatient settings, perform health assessments, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and document care per specialty standards. The role includes prescriptive authority, staff education, and participation in orientation and training of team members. Board certification and state licensure in Texas are required, with cardiovascular/thoracic experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited training program and board certified by the respective accreditation body
- Physician Assistant with board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed through the Texas Medical Board
- Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority and board certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed through the Texas Board of Nursing
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
