Job Summary

Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions in collaboration with supervising physicians, primarily staffing the ICU while cross-covering the telemetry ward. Obtain patient histories, perform assessments via observation and interview, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies. Provide direct treatment management using prescriptive authority, counsel patients and families on treatment options, and document care delivery in accordance with specialty standards and network policy. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students. This role supports the Institute for Cardiovascular Health at Dell Medical School and Ascension Texas, serving the regional adult population with multidisciplinary team care.

Required Qualifications

  • Physician's Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
  • Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
