Job Summary
Diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions while staffing the ICU and cross-covering the telemetry ward. Collaborate with supervising physicians to provide patient-centered care in outpatient and inpatient settings, including obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and interpreting diagnostic studies. Manage conditions via prescriptive authority or referrals, counsel patients and families on treatment options, and document care processes in accordance with specialty standards. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students as assigned. This role supports the Institute for Cardiovascular Health at Dell Medical School and Ascension Texas to serve the regional adult population.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority
- Specialization in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
