Job Summary
Cardiology fellowship (GME) three-year residency training in cardiovascular medicine. The fellow participates in an organized program, provides daily patient contact and assumes progressively increasing responsibility under the supervision of attending staff. The fellow applies principles of preventive medicine, diagnoses, therapy and patient management, and develops clinical judgment with increasing independence. The fellowship requires NBOME/USMLE examination completion and AOA/ACGME approvals, ongoing research components, educational activities, and adherence to program requirements including licensure as a Physician-in-Training or active license in Florida. Training emphasizes clinical skills, professional conduct, and participation in resident/student education and institutional committees. BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an osteopathic or allopathic post-graduate clinical education approved medical school or in good academic standing with an anticipated graduation date prior to commencing program at facility.
- Must have passed the Level 1, 2 and 3 NBOME or USMLE
- Have completed an AOA approved internal medicine residency program or an ACGME approved internal medicine program from which AOA approval has been granted.
- Be and remain a member of the AOA and ACOI during fellowship.
- Must have registered with the Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine as a Physician-in-Training, or as a licensed physician in the state of Florida.
