Cardiovascular Diagnostics Technician II

Job Summary
Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms (12 lead EKGs), Holter monitor applications, and exercise/treadmill stress tests (including pharmacological and echo stress tests) for inpatient and outpatient exams. Processes and transmits EKG, Holter monitor, and stress test data to designated software applications to ensure exams are available for physician interpretation, including paperwork and reconciliation. Collaborates with all members of the patient care team to deliver high-quality patient care. Requires demonstrated proficiency in English for communication with patients and staff; familiarity with hospital information systems and computer software for maintaining patient and exam documents. Must possess or obtain BLS and Certified EKG Technician or equivalent certification as part of the credentialing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED or homeschool equivalency accepted)
- One year experience performing a variety of electrocardiograms (12 lead EKGs), Holter monitor applications, or Stress Tests
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) certification and Certified EKG Technician (CET) from NHA or NPS; or Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) from CCI; for Certified EKG technician (ECG) from ACA; or Nationally Registered Certified EGK Technician (NRCEKG) from NAHP.
