Job Summary
Interventional CV Technologist needed to provide clinical support for diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, assist scrub with physician at the table or monitor and document cases, ensure sterile technique and radiation safety, manage pre/post-procedure assessments, perform point-of-care testing, and contribute to patient and family education. Requires knowledge of angiographic and interventional cardiology procedures, radiologic equipment operation, catheter and device familiarity (catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents), hemodynamic monitoring, SBAR communication, HIPAA compliance, and ongoing education. This role supports 24-hour STEMI coverage within a 30-minute window and participates in departmental meetings and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a certificate or degree granting program in health science: cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy or paramedic
- ARRT for Radiology OR RCIS for Invasive CV Technology
- SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina)
- Current Credentials with ARRT for Radiologic Technologist or RCIS for CVT, RRT, Paramedic ARRT (CV), or RCIS
- Knowledgeable of angiographic exam and interventional cardiology procedures
- Knowledgeable of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety
- Knowledgeable of catheters, guidewires, balloon dilatation catheters, stents
- Knowledgeable of physiological monitoring equipment and power injectors
- Arrhythmia competency
- Basic computer skills
