Job Summary

Provide comprehensive care to acutely ill and medically complex patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at a Level 1 trauma center. Lead cardiovascular care protocols, manage ECMO cannulation and RP Flex Impella placement, and contribute to clinical education and research. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support the supported ECPR program. Requires independent practice with extensive experience in Cardiac and Cardiothoracic ICU medicine. Board certified or board eligible in Critical Care Medicine with a Texas medical license. Full-time employment with competitive private practice pay and annual education allowance.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Current DEA Registration for schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5
  • appropriate state-issued prescribing authority
  • Board certified or board eligible in Critical Care Medicine
  • Extensive experience or strong interest in Cardiac and Cardiothoracic ICU medicine
  • Comfortable or willing to learn procedures such as ECMO cannulation, RP Flex Impella placement, and TEE
  • Willingness to become independent in ECMO management and cannulation
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Texas
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Strong clinical skills
  • ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

  • ability to prioritize tasks effectively
