Job Summary
Provide cardiothoracic surgery coverage across inpatient, outpatient, and operating room settings with weekday hours Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, followed by night call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM and 24-hour call on weekends. Manage morning rounding on 5 to 8 patients, update care plans, write orders, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary care team for post-operative tasks including chest tube and pacing wire removal, wound care, and discharge planning. Serve as first assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures and perform vein harvesting using the Maquet system, while managing approximately 10 outpatient consults daily. All clinical documentation is maintained through the EPIC EMR system. Board certification is required for this locums assignment.
