Job Summary
Conduct cardiothoracic surgery coverage across inpatient, outpatient, and operating room settings from Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, followed by night call and weekend 24-hour call. Perform morning rounding on 5 to 8 patients, update care plans, write orders, coordinate with the multidisciplinary team, and manage post-operative tasks including chest tube and pacing wire removal, wound care, and discharge planning. Serve as first assist in cardiothoracic procedures and perform vein harvesting using the Maquet system, while managing approximately 10 outpatient consults daily. Maintain all clinical documentation through the EPIC EMR system.

- Prescriptive Authority
- Call Required
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Night call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 24-hour call on weekends
- Morning rounding on 5 to 8 cardiothoracic patients
- Updating care plans
- Writing orders
- Coordinating with the multidisciplinary care team
